ISSUE 1 – LOUISE LARCHBOURNE

Louise Larchbourne was published first a long time ago in the West Midlands, where she had a presence as a local performing poet. She became interested in and explored the difference between poetry for reading and poetry for reading out loud. In the past year or two she has returned to the acting career she left for motherhood also a long time ago. She has enjoyed being involved in Jo Bell’s 52, and Poetry at the Ashmolean, now Ekphrasis. From both these practices of making regular and to some extent prescribed poetry she has learned more about writing than at any other comparable period.

ISSUE 2 – JULIE PELLOWE

Julie Pellowe is an ex-teacher of English/Literature and Creative Writing. She mainly writes monologues which often morph into short stories and plays. Her 90 minute stageplay, ‘Move on Up’ , was voted ‘Cream of the Campus’ by Northwest Playwrights, in 2004.

ISSUE 3 – JULIA WEBB

Julia Webb is a graduate of the University of East Anglia’s poetry MA. In 2011 she won The Poetry Society”s Stanza Competition and in 2014 she was shortlisted for the Poetry School/Pighog Pamphlet Prize. She is a poetry editor for Lighthouse a Journal for new writing and she teaches creative writing to adults and in schools in Norwich, UK. Her first collection Bird Sisters is due for publication by Nine Arches Press in Spring 2015.

ISSUE 4 – ZELDA CHAPPEL

Zelda writes, often on the backs of things. Her work can be found in several publications both online and in print including Popshot, Obsessed with Pipework, Lampeter Review, HARK and The Interpreters House. Her debut collection, ‘The Girl in the Dog-tooth Coat’ is due for release in July 2015 from Bare Fiction. She tweets, sometimes a little too often as @ZeldaChappel

ISSUE 5 – JULIE HOGG

Julie graduated from the University of Teesside with an MA in Creative Writing in 2012. She has work published in Alliterati, the Black Light Engine Room Literary Journal, Ink, Sweat and Tears, The Stare’s Nest, The Linnet’s Wings and StepAway Magazine. Anthologized by Appletree Writers, Ek Zuban and Kind of a Hurricane Press, she is featured in a chapbook, ‘Dark Matter 2,’ from the Black Light Engine Room Press.A

ISSUE 6 – RACHAEL CLYNE

Rachael Clyne’s work appears in magazines, including: Clear Poetry, Reach, The Interpreter’s House & Tears in the Fence. Anthologies:The Very Best of 52, Book of Love and Loss, Poems for a Liminal Age, Three Drops for a Cauldron. Her prizewinning collection, Singing at the Bone Tree (Indigo Dreams), concerns our longing for the wild. Recent work focuses more on nature of the human kind. She enjoys bringing humour and a touch of theatre to her readings, having had a past career as an actor.

ISSUE 7 – ROSIE JACKSON

Rosie Jackson lives near Frome, Somerset, where she works with the creative arts
in community and health settings. Born in Yorkshire, she has degrees in literature
from the Universities of Warwick and York. After lecturing at the University of East
Anglia and in London, Bristol and Nottingham, she left academia, spent time in India
and the United States, and began writing creatively. Her books include Fantasy: The
Literature of Subversion and Mothers Who Leave. Poetry Salzburg published her
pamphlet What the Ground Holds in 2014, and Cultured Llama are publishing her
poetry collection The Light Box in 2016. Rosie’s memoir The Glass Mother will also

ISSUE 8 – GRANT TABARD

Grant is the former editor of The Screech Owl, co-founder of Resurgant Press, and currently a poetry reader for Three Drops From A Cauldron.

He is the author of the collection As I Was Pulled Under the Earth (Lapwing Publications), as well as the chapbook Yellow Wolf (Writing Knights Press).

His poetry has appeared in several anthologies:

  Previously, he was the first runner-up (at the age of sixteen) in Ottakar’s / Faber National Poetry Competition; a finalist for a Pushcart Prize nomination; and winner of ‘The Sinister Poetry Award’ in the May 2014 issue of Dark & Horror Poetry (The Poetry Box Magazine).

 

 

ISSUE 9 – CLAIRE DYER

Claire Dyer is a novelist and poet from Reading, Berkshire. Her poetry collection, Eleven Rooms, is published by Two Rivers Press and a further collection is forthcoming in 2016.  She is the winner of the 2015 Charles Causley Poetry Prize and joint-winner of the 2015 Bath Poetry Café Short Poem Competition. Her novels, The Moment and The Perfect Affair and her short story Falling for Gatsby are published by Quercus. She has an MA in Creative Writing from Royal Holloway, University of London and teaches creative writing for Bracknell & Wokingham College.  She also runs Fresh Eyes, an editorial and critiquing service.
